Weather Protection
Frost Protek™ Plant Cover protects plants from frost and other damaging weather conditions during the growing season. It's made of the same fabric used by commercial growers for plant protection.
Plants can be prematurely killed or damaged by frost. Annual plants and native warm climate plants are especially vulnerable to damage. Perennial plants are more tolerant of frost.
Container plantings and hanging baskets are particularly susceptible to frost damage because the roots are above ground and therefore don't have the added warmth that the ground holds.
Frost
Frost Protek™ Plant Cover protects plants against damage due to light frost. The cover protects 4°F to 6°F below freezing (to about 26°F or -3.0° C).
Rain and Wind
Frost Protek™ Plant Cover helps protect plants from damage due to heavy rain. Too much water can drown plants, and potted plants are especially vulnerable to drainage problems.
Frost Protek™ Plant Cover contains the foliage and blossoms and helps protect them from damage due to strong wind.
Plants can be damaged when transporting them by vehicle, and the Frost Protek™ cover can help protect them from the elements and handling during transit.
Storing Your Covers After the Growing Season
Once annuals die back due to a hard freeze or perennials lose their foliage and enter dormancy, be sure to remove your covers and store them until the next growing season. Covers left on bare bushes or other plants are susceptible to being punctured or torn, making them less effective for the next growing season. Be sure to store them away from the sun or other direct UV light to prolong the life of the specially designed fabric.
Better Protection Frost Protek™ fabric insulates better than makeshift items such as sheets, blankets, and plastic — and its drawstring closure keeps the cover in place and holds in warmth around the plant.
Leave on Indefinitely In bad weather, the Frost Protek™ Plant Cover may be left on the plant indefinitely (days or even 3 or 4 weeks) as needed. There's no need to remove the cover each morning and replace it each evening. The cover is made of lightweight, breathable fabric that enables air and UV light to reach the plant.
